Choosing a wedding emcee

The Master of Ceremonies (MC or emcee) acts as the host of your wedding. The emcee doesn’t just introduce each person before their respective speech. His /her job is to ensure that the night runs smoothly and that everyone has a great time!

In my opinion, it’s always best to have someone close to you act as your emcee. It results in a more personal experience. That being said, here are a few qualities to consider when choosing your emcee:

1. Good public speaker: The person should be good at public speaking (humour is an asset).

2. Hyper organized: Not only should your emcee know who is speaking at what time, your emcee should know how to pronounce the first and last name of the people who will speaking at your wedding.

3. Adaptable to a flexible schedule: Not everything runs on time. And sometimes not everyone is readily available to make their speech. Your emcee should able to adapt to an ever changing schedule.

4. No stress please: Being an emcee can be stressful. That being said, a great emcee won’t let people see him/her sweat!
